Strong academic foundations remain important, but education should do more than prepare students for the next grade level. It should help learners develop confidence, independence, character, and the ability to think critically and solve problems. We also value creativity, curiosity, and learner-driven discovery, recognizing that meaningful learning often begins with a question, an interest, or a challenge worth pursuing.

By balancing freedom with accountability and support with high expectations, we help students become capable, confident, and independent learners who are prepared not only to succeed, but to contribute, create, and continue learning throughout their lives.

Our Philosophy

At Harris Academy, we believe children are capable of more than they often realize. We believe students thrive when they are given meaningful work, increasing responsibility, and the opportunity to grow through both mastery and exploration. Learning is most powerful when students actively participate in their own growth through goal setting, reflection, perseverance, and ownership of their education.

Empowering Learners

Harris Academy exists to cultivate curious, capable, and independent learners who take ownership of their education, develop strong character, and find joy in meaningful work. Through personalized, mastery-based learning within a caring community, we empower students to grow in confidence, responsibility, and creativity while developing a lifelong love of learning.

We chose Rinna as our daughter's guide for the 3rd grade. She’s so amazing that we have stayed through 5th grade. She’s kind, patient, and everything you’d want in a child’s micro school.

We absolutely love Harris Academy! Rinna is warm, intuitive, and truly cares about every child’s well-being. What stands out the most is how she listens and communicates so well with parents. It’s clear she wants every student to feel supported, understood, and empowered to learn. Her dedication has made a world of difference for our children, and we’re so thankful to have found her!
